ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. & FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--TruTouch Technologies, a pioneer in non-invasive biometric intoxication detection systems, has secured a partnership with TK Holdings for development of its device for an Automotive Solution.
TruTouch's mission is to help eliminate alcohol-related dangers in society and reduce the associated liabilities by providing a simple, accurate, and cost-effective test to ensure driver and vehicle operator safety.
The partnership, which includes an equity investment into TruTouch, is a commitment to jointly develop products and partner under the DADSS Phase II RFP.
Dr. Richard D Gill, P&CEO of TruTouch, said, "We are delighted to announce the partnership, which recognizes our commitment to reducing the devastating costs caused by alcohol-related accidents and injuries. The partnership will help advance the commercialization of our TruTouch intoxication detection systems as an Automotive Solution, products that are already enjoying success in the law enforcement, oil and drilling, military, and transportation markets.
He added, TruTouch's mission is to help eliminate alcohol-related dangers in society and reduce the associated liabilities by providing a simple, accurate, and cost-effective test to ensure driver and vehicle operator safety.
We have a rich history of developing automotive safety innovations designed to save lives, said Robert Fisher, TK Holdings Inc. executive vice president. TruTouch has proven the capabilities and integrity of the light-based alcohol detection system, and together, we plan to integrate the user-friendly and cost-effective technology into automotive applications. This partnership will advance the commercialization of these systems, bringing us closer to our vision of a day of zero fatalities due to automotive accidents.
The TruTouch products use an advanced intoxication detection technology that uses light to measure a subject's alcohol level instead of bodily fluids or other means. With TruTouch, a test subject places their finger on a near infrared measurement system, which then analyzes the alcohol concentration in the subject's system. The device can produce accurate results in seconds, and has a built-in biometric identification system to ensure test result integrity.
The TruTouch products require no user training, no disposables, no samples, and no operator assistance is required.
TruTouch Technologies, Inc. develops, manufactures and sells patented noninvasive biometric alcohol testing systems into both existing and emerging alcohol testing markets. Inspired by the potential to place its passive, durable systems virtually anywhere, TruTouch's vision is to create a world where intoxication is routinely intercepted before it does harm.
