LISLE, Ill.--Molex will exhibit two essential capillary tubing products at HPLC 2016, the 44th International Symposium on High Performance Liquid Phase Separation and Related Techniques, in booth 602. HPLC will be held June 19 – 24 at the Marriott San Francisco Marquis.
Polymicro Technologies™ Tight-Tolerance VS (Vision System) Fused Silica Capillary Tubing provides precise internal diameter (ID) tolerances for high efficiency gas and fluidic flow control for repeatability and low variances of system dead-volumes in scientific, industrial and medical applications.
“Laboratory professionals need reliable capillary tubing with tight tolerances for repeatable flow control,” said Joe Macomber, separation science product manager, Molex. “Tight-Tolerance VS Fused Silica Capillary Tubing consistently holds tight ID tolerances to achieve precise flow control.”
Loose capillary ID tolerances can produce unwanted dead-volumes, band broadening, inconsistent flow rates, and imprecise dosage delivery. Drawn from high-purity synthetic fused silica preforms, Tight-Tolerance VS Flexible Fused Silica Capillary Tubing delivers superior performance and optimal flow control with an ID tolerance down to ±1µm for IDs as large as 50µm.
Polymicro Technologies™ nano-Capillary Tubing is available in very small IDs, from 200 to 1,000nm (0.2 to 1.0μm). Traditional capillary tubing products did not offer IDs smaller than 1μm. Prior to the development of nano-Capillary tubing, the scientific, industrial and medical communities leading options for sub-1 micrometer diameter substrates were wet-etch or ion-beam milling, both of which are expensive, and relatively inaccessible.
Polymicro Technologies™ nano-Capillary Tubing product line enables researchers to explore innovations in applications such as single-molecule analysis and ultra-low flow rate techniques. Being drawn from synthetic fused silica, the new tubing offers the established mirror-smooth interior surfaces and low metal ion content the market has come to trust. As with other Polymicro Technologies™ products, the tubing is easily cleaved or cut to custom lengths. In addition, a polyimide coating on the tubing exterior offers excellent abrasion resistance during handling and use and allows for easy interfacing with existing connector technologies.
“Polymicro Technologies™ nano-Capillary tubing delivers cost-effective, high-performance capillary tubing in the sub-1 micrometer regime,” said Macomber. “Proven as a substrate for packaging integrity and leak testing, this capillary allows for new advances in the field of separation science.”
