CALGARY, Alberta--Lumiant Corporation, a materials development company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Charles Baker as CEO. Mr. Baker will be responsible for guiding the company toward profitability by opening and expanding new markets for Lumiant’s innovative materials; such as, its revolutionary patent pending TitanMade® metallic composite.
This announcement signals the company’s successful transition from a research and development company to a developer and manufacturer of new materials. Lumiant’s innovative materials are designed and created to meet the advanced engineering requirements of cutting edge industries, an arena where Mr. Baker has demonstrated a lifetime of achievement.
Charles Baker’s 35-year product development and engineering career includes key positions at several international automobile related corporations; including General Motors, Honda Motors, Harley Davidson, and Johnson Controls. Until recently, Mr. Baker was an Executive Director of Product Marketing at GM where he crafted winning strategies to focus on customer needs in China, Brazil, Mexico and other global markets.
Mr. Baker led five Honda vehicle developments as Chief Engineer – including the award winning 2001 Acura MDX, as well as development of the 2003 Accord in Japan. Eventually he had overall responsibility for vehicle development in North America as Vice President of Honda R&D Americas.
Lumiant founder, Richard Holloway, will relinquish his role as CEO to assume Chief Technology Officer duties, enabling him to better apply his energies to material development and manufacturing.
