Geek.com has reported that Google Glass is back from the dead. And with a much more advantageous ambition. Project lead Jay Kothari on Tuesday announced the new Glass Enterprise Edition, available now to businesses—not tech enthusiasts. Kothari wrote in a blog post: “Workers in many fields, like manufacturing, logistics, field services, and healthcare find it useful to consult a wearable device for information and other resources while their hands are busy". Using GE Aviation as guinea pigs, the company introduced new functions like a heads-up display with instructional videos, animations, and images, “so [users] don’t have to stop work to check their binders or computer to know what to do next.”
That simple change, according to Kothari, helped reduce errors and improve efficiency by up to 12 percent.
