Nations Largest Food Redistributor to Invest $24 Million, Create 157 New Jobs
NASHVILLETennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty, along with Dot Foods officials today announced the company will construct its ninth distribution center in Dyersburg, Tenn. The distribution warehouse will be the companys first in Tennessee and will be located on State Highway 211 in the Dyersburg Industrial Park. Dot Foods will invest $24 million and create 157 new jobs in Dyer County.

We are excited about the opportunity to open our newest distribution center in Dyersburg, said John Tracy, CEO of Dot Foods. We conduct extensive logistics analyses on where and when to open a new distribution center and we chose Dyersburg because of the communitys support, proximity to other Dot Foods locations and customers, as well as its cultural fit with our company. Were also equally excited to appoint Tim Loyd as the new facilitys general manager.
The distribution center is scheduled to open in September 2014, and a temporary office will open this fall.. The new facility will be 166,494 square feet in size and include frozen, refrigerated and ambient storage; a 125,000-square-foot warehouse; and a 9,500-square-foot truck and tractor garage. It will service Dot Foods distributor customers in middle and western Tenn., Ala., Miss., Ark., and Western Ky.

Dot Foods and its subsidiary shipping partner Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) plan to hire 157 employees within the first three years in Dyersburg. This includes truck drivers, managers, supervisors, management trainees, warehouse workers, garage technicians, maintenance technicians, clerical employees and more.

This will be the ninth distribution center for Dot Foods. Dot Foods also has distribution centers in Modesto, Calif.; Vidalia, Ga.; Burley, Idaho; Cambridge City, Ind.; Williamsport, Md.; Liverpool, N.Y.; Ardmore, Okla.; and its main distribution center in Mt. Sterling, Ill.
