HENDERSON, Nev.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aldec, Inc., today announces the latest release of its requirements lifecycle management solution for FPGAs/SoCs, Spec-TRACER 2014.12. This release delivers direct integration with IBM Rational DOORS, allowing board requirements and attributes in DOORS to be imported directly into the Spec-TRACER database. FPGA-related elements managed and generated in Spec-TRACER, such as FPGA requirements, HDL design and testbench tags, traceability data, test cases, log files, waveforms, code coverage results and more, can also be exported back to the DOORS database.
The new Spec-TRACER and DOORS direct integration bridges the traceability gap and provides the system engineers, project managers, program managers who are proficient in DOORS visibility to the critical data that pertains to the FPGA.
Organizations developing safety and mission-critical FPGAs/SoCs using DOORS have had a long known problem at hand there is disconnect in the traceability and tool flow, said Louie De Luna, DO-254 Program Manager. The new Spec-TRACER and DOORS direct integration bridges the traceability gap and provides the system engineers, project managers, program managers who are proficient in DOORS visibility to the critical data that pertains to the FPGA.

Spec-TRACER 2014.12 New Features
- The Traceability Import supports importing traceability defined in a Comma Separated Value (CSV) format enabling users automate the creation of traceability.
- The Full Traceability View includes hyperlinks to requirements, design source files and verification results. Users are able to cross-navigate between FPGA requirements, conceptual design data, HDL design source, testbench, test case, log files, HTML reports and waveforms.
- The SpecTrSimRes command line application automatically updates the Spec-TRACER database with the Functional Coverage results from Aldec Coverage Database (ACDB) and Unified Coverage Database (UCDB).
Spec-TRACER is a unified requirements lifecycle management application designed to facilitate a requirements-based FPGA/SoC design and verification process. Spec-TRACER facilitates requirements capture, management, analysis, traceability, tests management and reporting. Spec-TRACER seamlessly integrates with Windows-based simulation tools.
