ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Institute for Energy Management Professionals (IEnMP) is pleased to announce that the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has accredited IEnMP's Certified Practitioner in Energy Management Systems Industrial sector certification program (CP EnMS â€“ Industrial) to the International Standard ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024. ANSI accreditation is recognized both nationally and internationally and has become the hallmark of a quality personnel certification program.

Persons certified to the CP EnMS â€“ Industrial credential could be internal staff at an industrial facility or a consultant and have 3 main responsibilities. First, they work with an organization to establish and/or maintain an energy management system that meets the requirements of ISO 50001. Second, CP EnMS â€“ Industrial certificants work with industrial facilities to establish an energy management system that meets ANSI MSE 50021 Superior Energy PerformanceTM (SEP) - Additional Requirements for Energy Management Systems and to prepare these facilities to seek SEP certification. Finally, a CP EnMS â€“ Industrial certificant works with an organization to integrate ISO 50001 with their existing management systems.
IEnMP is a non-profit organization, established at the Georgia Institute of Technology and created with support from the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Manufacturing Office, providing personnel certification services in support of the SEP initiative and other energy management system-related activities.
