Exoskeletal Technology Pioneer Equipois Inc. Achieves First Tier on NewSpace Global's NSG 100 Index
LOS ANGELES--Equipois Inc., the developer of zeroG and X-Ar exoskeletal arm technologies, has reached the top ten ranking of the NSG 100 index created by NewSpace Global, a leading information service provider on NewSpace.
NewSpace Global (“NSG”) provides independent research and analytics on the emerging commercial space sector. NSG provides in-depth, timely analysis of ventures involved in space and adjacent markets, assessing companies based on management, market viability, capitalization, technology, and other factors. It converts its evaluation to a single numerical value and ranks firms from 1 to 100; it also categorizes companies based on an overall assessment, ranging from “Strong Positive” to “Strong Caution.”
While Equipois's technology is not directly in the “NewSpace” sector, the leading market for the company's exoskeletal technology is aerospace and defense, and Equipois's customers include most of the leading manufacturers in that industry. NewSpace Global visited Equipois's (NSG: POIS) facilities, tested its technology and conducted several interviews before including the company in the NSG 100 index earlier this year. In March, Equipois achieved the #4 ranking, with an overall evaluation of “Strong Positive” – one of only four companies in the index in that top category.
NSG recently profiled Equipois in Thruster, NSG's monthly market tracking report (“Poised for Success: How One NSG 100 Company is Leveraging Space to Solve Problems Here on Earth”). NSG cited the “disruptive” potential of Equipois's zeroG technology, which increases productivity and eliminates injuries, as well as the company's management, marketing approach, and persistence in pioneering a new technology during very difficult economic times.
The ranking follows a year of growing recognition for Equipois and its technology. In 2011, Equipois was profiled by CNBC, CNN Money's Innovation Nation, Bloomberg Businessweek, and the Los Angeles Times. The company's newest product, the X-Ar™ exoskeletal arm support technology, was also featured on CNN's “Big I” segment, which highlights “big new ideas and innovations to help with big problems,” as well as in the July 2011 issue of Popular Science. In the fall of 2011, Equipois received the Wall Street Journal's Technology Innovation Award in the category of Manufacturing Technology.
