(Findlay, Ohio) Auto parts maker Findlay Industries appears to be shutting down most of its operations while attempting to find a buyer.
On July 18, the company will close its corporate facility and several plants located in Findlay as well as its site in Springfield, according to a notice filed with the state of Ohio.
The move will affect almost 150 employees in Findlay and 67 in Springfield.
Findlay officials cited the current economic climate and unforeseen developments in its relationship with Navistar and prospective buyers.
Management has been, and will continue, pursuing every realistic opportunity to keep the faltering facilities in business under new ownership, but can make no guarantees, the company said in the notice.
Findlay Industries is a privately owned company established in 1959 that specializes in manufacturing interior parts for the automotive and heavy truck industry, according to its website.
