TASC Selected to Lead DOD's $200 Million SBIRS SE&I Prime Contract
Company to Provide Critical Decision-Support Services for Missile Warning and Defense

CHANTILLY, Va.,-- TASC, Inc. has won a systems engineering and integration (SE&I) contract valued in excess of $200 million with a three-year base and three two-year options to support the Infrared Space Systems Wing (ISSW) at Los Angeles Air Force Base.

Under terms of the contract, the TASC team will work on several key mission areas of the Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) program, the nation's missile early warning and defense system, including missile defense, battlespace awareness and technical intelligence.

"As a newly independent company, we are delighted to be selected as prime SE&I contractor for this nationally important program," says Wood Parker, president and CEO of TASC. "The Department of Defense's expression of confidence in TASC reflects our company's deep domain expertise, employee commitment to excellence, and our historical dedication to the success of their mission."

As the prime SE&I contractor, TASC will create and maintain the enterprise integrated technical baseline for Air Force Space OPIR, while performing systems engineering and integration functions such as architecture development, verification and validation, and enterprise impact monitoring. TASC will be responsible for these critical functions at multiple program levels. An important component of the contract calls for TASC to provide in-depth program analysis vital to the government's decision-making process concerning key aspects of the SBIRS system.

"This contract expands our presence with the DOD's Space and Missile Systems Center," says Pat Talty, vice president of Mission Engineering at TASC.  "By providing timely and accurate missile warning and defense information, SBIRS is vitally important for protecting the United States, its forces and its allies against missile attacks."

TASC's partners on this contract are SAIC, AT&T Government Solutions, Teledyne Brown, Qinetiq, ATK, NGC, Ryan, TriSept, Greendart, IAI and Boecore.

Founded in 1966, TASC, Inc., is the premier, non-conflicted provider of advanced systems engineering, integration and decision-support services to the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense and civilian agencies of the federal government.  A unit of Northrop Grumman Corporation from 2001 to 2009, TASC became an independent company in December 2009.  With 5,000 employees in 38 locations, TASC generates more than $1.6 billion in annual revenue.  For more information and career opportunities, visit our website at www.tasc.com.
