GREENSBORO, N.C.--()--Tomorrow, precision measurement company J. A. King will provide a large scale to organizers of Reelin' for Research. The device will be used in Morehead City to weigh fish in an annual fishing tournament that raises funds for pediatric cancer research.
Reelin' for Research was established in memory of Tony Montana, a beloved figure who passed away from cancer in 2005. Friends and relatives of Tony started the fishing tournament in 2009 as a way to honor him and to help fund researchers at North Carolina Children's Hospital.
On Saturday, teams will spend the day trying to land the biggest fish they can. The moment of truth comes when they place their three biggest fish on the scale provided by J. A. King. The scale has been precisely calibrated by one of the company's experienced technicians.
“We're proud to put our expertise to such good work,” says company spokesman Daniel Engelbretson. “Character and integrity have been a part of our company since its founding in 1939. And today, 73 years later, helping organizations like Reelin' for Research is an integral part of our company's vision.”
The 24” x 24” thousand-pound scale will be used at the weigh in at the Morehead City waterfront on Saturday.
