The Ohio Development Financing Advisory Council has approved a $600,000 Ohio Research Development and Investment Loan for Zidian Manufacturing Inc. of Boardman in conjunction with the company’s plans to invest $11.05 million in an expansion project that will create 58 full-time jobs and retain 58 full-time jobs.
The investment at the company’s facility on McClurg Road will include $6.5 million in building investment, $3.8 million in machinery and equipment and $740,000 in other investments.
The average hourly rate for all new positions will be $12.75.
Sarah Boyarko, manager of Business Development for the Regional Chamber, attended the meeting in Columbus with company officials.
Zidian’s Summer Garden Food Manufacturing produces its flagship brand, Gia Russa, as well as celebrity chef brands, private label and store brands.
The company is located on a 10-acre campus on McClurg Road. that includes a “Green LEED Certified“ food manufacturing facility as well as a building housing on-site research and development center, quality assurance laboratories and a Culinary Arts Center. In 2010, an adjacent building and property were purchased to expand warehousing and distribution.
